The problem we are addressing stranded Rooftop PV generation. As much as 30% of rooftop solar production isn’t used when its generated.
Our solution starts with a virtual battery service in Portugal which allows rooftop solar prosumers to reclaim their surplus energy production with a simple and standalone service.
We achieve a virtual battery by pooling electricity among prosumers and peer 2 peer sharing to maximize roof top solar efficiency.
Enabling the utilization of all their production creates a strong revenue stream for the venture, but also lower subscriber cost of ownership by reducing electricity costs and provide a bigger level of protection against electricity market fluctuations.
We offer a discounted subscription for clients who purchase electricity further increasing their saving.
We also use the peer 2 peer data to generate certificates of origin to be traded.
We have validated the concept for Portugal and will use the service here as a springboard for a subsequent multi-country launch. The concept is valid for many EU countries which do not provide solar net metering or where compensation for surplus electricity production is very low.
